The word Yoga means union, to yoke or harness ones energies so as to be in union.

The only thing we can control in life is ourselves and despite how little we like our choices sometimes, it is our capacity to make choices that is our path to freedom, prosperity and wellbeing for all. It is not what happens to us in life that counts, it is our attitude that counts. Yoga is the tool, the skill, the theory and the practice of this.

Our Approach to Yoga

Satyananda style yoga offers you a class that includes relaxation, asanas or postures, pranayama or breath practice and either deeper relaxation or meditation suitable for the class participants.  Satyananda style yoga seeks to increase awareness, intuitive qualities and the capacity of practitioners to reach full potential and be of benefit to the greater good of all.

All practices in the Satyananda style of yoga are designed to assist the mind body complex to function at an optimum level while serving to release the blockages that thwart us from reaching our true potential.

Yoga is not a religion. All yoga assists you to reach your highest potential and as such can enhance your own spiritual or religious beliefs.
